U/S 117705 Knowledge of the Firearms Control Act

This course is mandatory  before all other uint-standards can be done. This will give the foundation of the “law” (Act No 60 of 2000) and can be done together with the Category 2 courses. 

Category 2

U/S 119649 Handle and Use a Handgun

U/S 119650 Handle and Use a Self-Loading Rifle

U/S 119651 Handle and Use a Manually Operated Rifle

U/S 119652 Handle and Use a Shotgun

These courses are meant for the private owner and the stepping stone for Category 3. 

 

If you wish to own your own firearm, as a private identity and not commercial use like security, you do not have to do the next courses unless it is just to improve your own skill level.

Category 3

U/S 123511 Handle and Use a Self-Loading Rifle for business purposes

U/S 123514 Handle and Use a Shotgun for business purposes

U/S 123515 Handle and Use a Handgun for business purposes

U/S 123519 Handle and Use a Manually Operated Rifle for business purposes

U/S 120487 Use Firearms in a Military and Law Enforcement Environment

Regulation 21       Applicable to security guards and anybody else who is issued with a company firearm

If you are in any industry regarding firearms you know by now that the business purposes is a must in your field. 

The business purposes courses can only be done if category one and two are in place. 

It can be done as all in one course if you are happy with your confidence and skill level. 

The Regulation 21, refer to the refresher course all personnel and owners as well as responsible persons have to do on a annually.
