STEP 1:
Obtain a Proficiency Certificate
A Proficiency Certificate can be obtained from a Training Provider that is Accredited by SAPS and SAPFTC. The Assessor, Moderator, and Premises need to be accredited.
STEP 2:
Apply for a Competency Certificate
The Competency Application consists of the inspection of a safe and the testimonials of spouse/acquaintances and the criminal background check by SAPS. (The application is to be done at the SAPS closest to the applicant’s residence)
STEP 3:
Application of licenses
This is where the motivation for the specific firearm is required to be done at the SAPS closest to the applicant’s residence.
